Express Checkout
Express Checkout is a powerful feature in SellKit designed to reduce friction and speed up the purchase process. By allowing customers to complete their orders quickly—often with just a few clicks—it helps increase conversion rates and improve the overall shopping experience.
Express Checkout skips unnecessary steps like cart review or full checkout forms and instead leverages fast, secure payment methods (like Stripe or PayPal) to complete the transaction directly from the product or landing page.
Let’s walk through how to set it up step-by-step.
Step 1: Enable a Fast Payment Method (e.g., Stripe)
To use Express Checkout, you’ll need to have a fast and secure payment method configured in your WooCommerce store.
- Go to your WordPress Dashboard → WooCommerce → Settings → Payments tab.
Enable a fast payment method like Stripe or PayPal.
Click Set up or Manage to configure the payment method. For Stripe, you’ll need to connect your Stripe account and ensure that Card payments are enabled.
- Save changes once the payment method is properly configured.
⚠️ Note: Express Checkout won’t work if no fast, redirect-free payment methods are active. Stripe is highly recommended for optimal performance.
To learn more about connecting WooCommerce to Stripe, read the section "How to Set Up Stripe in WooCommerce" on this page.
Step 2: Create or Edit a Funnel with Checkout Step
- Go to SellKit → Funnels and click Add New to create a funnel, or edit an existing one.
- Choose a template that includes a Checkout step, or add a Checkout step manually.
- Click on the Checkout step in your funnel.
Step 3: Add Express Checkout Button to Your Checkout Page
Now you’ll need to display the Express Checkout button on the front end.
- Edit the checkout page where you want the button to appear.
- Add the Checkout Form block or Elementor widget.
- Enable express checkout from the settings.
- Customize the style and text if needed.
You can supplement Express Checkout with the Skip Cart feature for an even more frictionless checkout experience, sending users directly from the product page to the Express Checkout.
How to Set Up Stripe in WooCommerce?
To use SellKit’s Express Checkout feature, you must first install and properly configure a fast, redirect-free payment gateway like Stripe.
1. Install the Stripe Plugin for WooCommerce
- In your WordPress Dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New.
- In the search bar, type Stripe.
- Look for WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway by Automattic and click Install Now.
- After installation, click Activate.
2. Enable Stripe and Start Setup
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments tab.
- Locate Stripe and click Complete setup.
3. Connect Your Stripe Account
- You’ll see a screen prompting you to connect a Stripe account.
- Click Create or connect an account.
- You’ll be redirected to the Stripe onboarding page. Log in or create a new Stripe account.
Important: During this process, Stripe will generate the Live Secret Key and Publishable Key automatically. These are securely linked to your site and do not require manual input.
4. Enable Stripe and Payment Options
Once connected:
- You’ll return to the WooCommerce dashboard where Stripe should now show Enabled.
- Make sure the Enable Stripe checkbox is ticked in WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Stripe → Settings.
5. Select Express Payment Methods (Optional but Recommended)
To make Express Checkout even faster and mobile-friendly, enable express options like Apple Pay or Google Pay.
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Stripe and switch to the Payment Methods tab.
- Scroll down to Express checkouts and enable Apple Pay / Google Pay and Link by Stripe.
- Save changes.
Once Stripe is active and connected, Express Checkout in SellKit can be used seamlessly on your store or funnel pages.
